Annette Kingsley-Scott, Streatham, London, SW16 2HS

I have been a registered childminder and member of the NCMA (National Childminding Association) since June 2003. I am OFSTED registered and when working alone I am allowed a total of 5 children under 8 years, 2 of which may be under 5 including one under 12 months. I was last inspected by OFSTED in January 2011, where I received a good grading overall, with outstanding features. I am a Lambeth accredited network childminder and in addition to this I am a qualified teacher, my degree covering education for ages 3 to 11. My decision to become a registered childminder was made due to my desire to spend time with children of varying ages in a small setting and provide continuity of care to the individual child throughout their childhood and I believe being a registered childminder helps me to fulfil this.

As a registered childminder I hold current paediatric first aid and food hygiene certificates. I also have public liability, employers’ public liability and business car insurance. I undertake a lot of continuous professional development relating to childminding, where possible in the evenings and at weekends.

I currently work between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. The fees are £6.30 per hour (valid until 31 December 2011). I do not charge for any days I don’t work including bank holidays, up to 20 days annual leave and up to 5 training days. I require the full fee to be paid if your child is ill, has a day off or goes on holiday. I understand that the cost of registered childcare may seem expensive to a parent and for this reason I encourage you to check your eligibility for childcare tax credits. I also accept childcare (salary sacrifice) vouchers. I require 4 weeks full payment in advance as a deposit. This will be held by me for the duration of your child’s attendance and then used to pay the last 4 weeks of fees. Fees need to be paid weekly in advance on the first day of the week your child attends.

I live with my husband, Robert and our son Benjamin. Robert is registered as my assistant so when he isn’t working full time he is able to work alongside me in a supporting role, including supervising children or collecting children from school. We live in a large four bedroom house in Streatham. The whole of the downstairs is used for childminding. The through living room is the heart of my setting and this is where the majority of the toys and equipment are used and stored. This room also has doors which open directly on to the back garden which has play equipment including castle, slides and cars. The kitchen is used for cooking, eating and ‘messy’ activities such as Playdough and painting when they are not outside.

Please contact me via  Email  or 07956 492 670 to arrange a visit, check current availability or to register your interest and join the waiting list. If you require references I will put you in touch with parents who have used or are currently using my childminding service.
